High Upon That Mountain

I think everyone needs a retreat, where they can go to be at peace with themselves, and collect their own thoughts. I know I do, but you also need a place that just seems magical and puts you at ease. Everyone has to find their own personal place like that, but mine is on the top of a mountain that stands right in front of our front porch. It is quite a hike from our house to the top of the mountain, which is very good for me, and once I'm there, and slightly to the left, there is a large lump of ground, all covered with smaller stones, as if someone just dumped a large pile of rocks there. It reminds me of the tomb where they buried Jesus, and it just gives me the most wonderful feeling, when I am there, and all my cares just seem to fade away.

HIGH UPON THAT MOUNTAIN     Tonight, I'm going up on that mountain. To the highest point of refuge that I see. It is there I find my savior waiting, to comfort a troubled soul like me.     There's a church, somewhere down in the valley, and sometimes, that where I long to be, but when I need comfort and assurance, it is on that mountain where he speaks to me.     Tonight I'm going up on that mountain. To the highest point of refuge that I see. It is there I find my savior waiting, to comfort a troubled soul like me. Musical turn around.     When you're sorrow bound and feeling lonely. Seek your place of peace and solitude. Find out where comfort for your soul can be. Maybe high up on that mountain, is where your life can be renewed.  Repeat Chorus.
